This wedding just makes me smile. I was smiling as I scrolled through the lovely images and I smiled a whole lot more when I read that the couple met in high school (my hubby and I had a similar story.) This wedding is simple in all of the right ways from the barn setting, to the braids in the girls’ hair, to the mason jars, the cut-up watermelon, and pie pans on the dessert table. In fact, I could use a slice of pie right about now.
And the bridesmaids … you want their outfits, right? The black peplum J.Crew dresses and nude bow-backed pumps are nothing short of perfect … as in, I’d wear that look from head-to-toe right now … and this, from a bridesmaids’ outfit.
From the bride… We met senior year in high school in track and field. We started dating freshman year in college (2006), and Arthur proposed 5 years later! He proposed at a place called 1,000 steps in Laguna Beach. We decided to have a Southern/rustic wedding. I was born and raised in Texas, and I wanted something that represented my roots! We had a groom’s cake as a special Southern touch. Seeing Arthur crying as I walked down the aisle was a huge moment for me! Plus throwing on my cowboy boots at the reception! I love the photo of Arthur and I sitting on the swing looking at each other. As far as advice to other brides, I would say to enjoy your day! It goes by fast! Take time to remember every moment!
