Sometimes I want to throw an impromptu dinner party, but then I overwhelm myself with my own high expectations. I love to cook, so for the most part, I’ve got the menu covered – even if it’s a big bowl of pasta and salad, folks are happy; but the decor is another thing. I tend to pin, bookmark, and save table-top inspiration like a maniac, but then when inspiration to cook strikes, and I think, “This weekend I’ll throw a dinner party” I always back-peddle because I think, “I can’t possibly design a dinner party by Saturday.” And you know what? That’s just silly.
So I offer up this inspiration: a gorgeous table-scape with simple place settings and one statement piece of fabric running across the center of the table — in gold chevron and sequins … how’s that for a table-runner? (Also loving this red and white chevron table runner from One King’s Lane for a lunch or summer event!)
By the way, the entire wedding that this simple table-scape is from is super bohemian glam. Have a look!
After having a destination wedding of our own, and learning the ups and downs of planning from a distance, I’ve put together a few pointers for throwing a great destination wedding. Choosing the perfect venue for our wedding was so important to my now-husband and I. We loved to travel, loved good food, and wanted to share all of that with our closest friends and family. We also cherish the memories even years after the wedding and love sharing our story with everyone and anyone who will listen!
So without further ado, the five things to remember when planning your own destination wedding …
Summer weddings can be tricky to dress for – temperatures are at an all-year high, weather is unpredictable at best, and there are so many great patterns, trends, colors, and styles to choose from (not that I’m complaining about that last bit!)
Whether you go for this Summer’s sweetest polka dots, stripes, floral prints, a sexier backless dress, or a body-con dress for the more daring, the styles and patterns are endless, and Lulus.com has them all, at truly affordable prices. The affordable part is oh-so-important when you’re at the age where you have a wedding every other weekend, with all of the same friends and family — in other words, wearing the same dress over and over is a fashion no no.
And though I’m a devoted fan of the LBD (little black dress), for Summer weddings it’s so much more fun to dress in color and pattern! And of course, Lulus.com has it all.
