Vanilla Blackberry-Mascarpone Cake

Vanilla Blackberry-Mascarpone Cake

This Vanilla Blackberry-Mascarpone Cake from Sweetapolita is both visually perfect and sounds absolutely delicious.  I’ve always loved a wedding cake that isn’t trying too hard to be a wedding cake.  The gradual ombré look of the cake could also work with any wedding or party color scheme, but the dark blackberry shade here, tied into a pastel lavender and a  minty turquoise is just beautiful.

Inspiration Board: Winter Berry

I am loving these deep jewel-toned colors, especially for winter weddings.  The flowers – anemones, ranunculuses, tea roses, red and viburnum berries, a lush navy or royal purple invitation, a dark chocolate cake topped with sugared cranberries, spiced liquor to toast and a cool glass of raspberry tea after plenty of dancing.
