These pictures by Ciara Richardson are stunningly gorgeous. The different floral crowns and the model’s soft pink hair are perfection. Dare I say pink might be the most perfect wedding hair color (for the adventurous bride)?

Dress of the Week
Happy Friday all! (This Friday couldn’t have come sooner!) As for this lovely dress: it took my breath away. It’s body-hugging in all the right ways, the sheer paneling and open back, the beading, it’s all so gorgeous and reminiscent of the roaring twenties. Chosen as part of a fashion shoot, the dress, a Jenny Packham gown, pairs perfectly with an over-the-top white floral Preston & Olivia headpiece – both of which I love.want.need.

Rocking A Floral Crown Like A Princess
We all grow up dreaming ourselves into a fairytale world, and though we’ve grown older (and maybe a bit wiser), we haven’t all lost the princess spell. You know that urge – the urge to throw glitter, eat petit fours until your sick, buy a pony, and perhaps most relevant here (though a pony certainly would help), wear flowers in your hair.
The options are endless. The lighter more natural floral crown or headpiece can be strung with wildflowers and greenery.
A brighter, bolder crown can be filled with larger florals like roses, hydrangeas, berries, and so on.
And, if you’re feeling crafty, Lauren Conrad’s site, The Beauty Department, has a fabulous DIY on how to put together the sweetest floral crown.

A Mythical Irish Wedding Shoot
Fly Away Bride, along with Photographer Shane O’Neill from Aspect Photography dreamed up and photographed this ethereal Irish wedding shoot based on Ancient Irish Wedding Traditions, set in South to Co. Cork in Inish Beg. (Ireland, here I come!)
A few fun facts about Irish Weddings:
In ancient times, Irish brides wore blue dresses to symbolize purity.
A wildflower hair wreath is a head piece that is traditionally very popular with the Irish bride.
During the vows, a bride and groom participate in a hand-fastening ceremony using ribbon or rope. Irish legends have often told the story of two lovers uniting as they “tied the knot”.
A horseshoe is carried by the bride, turned up so that their luck wouldn’t run out. In modern Irish ceremonies the horse shoe is usually a small porcelain version and incorporated within the brides bouquet. (Though I’ve spotted horse shoe rings – worn up – necklaces, and bracelets on many brides as well!)
