DIY Rope Vases

The ladies over at Style Me Pretty never cease to amaze me.  Today, it’s these amazing (and simple to make) DIY rope vases … tomorrow, it’s the world!  I watch too many cartoons.

These rope-wrapped vases would look gorgeous in a rustic or nautical-themed wedding, but they’d also look fantastic in a home kitchen or as a centerpiece for your dining room table.

Simple Pumpkin Decorations

I am a klutz with a knife.  I actually think I may be on an official knife ban in my own kitchen.  It’s that bad.  So the idea of “carving” a pumpkin sounds downright lethal.  Which is why I am in love with all of the spray-painted versions of the Halloween pumpkin this Fall season.

To start, I am loving these four ways to decorate pumpkins, including spraying a pumpkin with white paint and filling it with flowers and painting gold foil onto a pumpkin.

Wouldn’t the finished products they look perfect on a mantle or a dining room table?

DIY Banner Wedding Cake

Wedding cakes are beautiful, and also really expensive.  And let’s face it, gorgeous or not, the most important factors fall somewhere between cake and frosting.  I want a delicious cake, first and foremost.  Even when designing my own wedding cake, I felt oddly uninspired.  There were so many stunning options but the choices were overwhelming.  In the end, we went for a white frosted hand-piped cake with fresh flowers covering the top of the cake: simple and pretty … and most importantly, yummy.

These adorable DIY cake decorations are meant to spruce up even the simplest of cakes (and side note: store bought birthday/wedding cake may be one of the most delicious inventions of all time.  I kid you not.)
